There are animals and plants on the verge of extinction due to the need of man to grow and conquer their surroundings, which will not be around for our children and future generations to enjoy if anything is not done about it now. For hundreds of years, this dilemma has been going on.

Endangered organisms were a subject of debate during the 1920s, much as they are today. Many species were lost in the 1920s because of over-hunting and poaching. Several kinds of whales, koalas, and many more are species that became endangered during the 1920s. Far more species have become endangered today. These species eventually become extinct if endangered species are not protected. While extinction is an unavoidable process, it is important to conserve endangered species because it looks after humanity's best interests, people bear a moral obligation to nature, and it enables future generations to access animals that would otherwise have disappeared. Protecting endangered species takes care of the best interests of mankind.

The Earth's biodiversity will decline without the conservation of endangered species. Many scientists assume, according to iDebate.org, that "the diversity of life and living systems is... a necessary condition for human development". Each species has a specific role in each ecosystem, and if one species is to be removed, the entire ecosystem will be affected.
